Welcome! I'm Sandra McGregor. I hail to many titles, but my favorite ones are Mother, Wife and Romance Author.
If you're already a friend, I'm glad you stopped by to check out my new blog site, but I'm always excited about making new friends, so spread the word and invite others to join the fun.
My current plans are to post new articles about my Life and Love twice each week and Good Books (and their authors) will be featured once each week. (usually on Wednesdays, but this might vary)
So, I hope you'll drop back by often and check out my upcoming guests and leave comments. I hope you will also "like" my site and choose to follow me during this exciting journey through life while I write and publish books for your enjoyment.
Below is a short Bio that I hope you find interesting.
I've written stories for many more years than I care to admit, even though some of them were only a page long and lacked most of the required elements for a book to be deemed publishable.
I got a little more serious in the 1990s and actually finished several full-length books, but, alas, I made all the new writer mistakes and, still, they were deemed unpublishable. Then in 2001, I accepted a challenge from my husband to get serious and write some of the books I'd been talking about for so long. Never one to step away from a challenge, I began to study, take classes and write.
In 2006 I went to my first romance writer's meeting, Georgia Romance Writers of Atlanta, Ga. and the rest, as "they" say, is history. With help from several people in reading and giving advice, I sold my first book to Avalon Books in 2008 (under a pen name). I was on my way. It published in 2009 and the next one released in 2010.
Then, I took another challenge and edited some of my older stories and joined the exploding number of authors who are putting their work up on Amazon and Barnes & Nobel and, in essence, we're publishing our own e-books.
Currently, I have five books up for sale--with a sixth one being launched in about a week.
E-books on Amazon
You'll hear more about these and upcoming books in the days and weeks to come, but in the meantime, let me assure you that what some people teased me about as a "hobby" is a serious career that I'm pursuing and I'm excited to be sharing my writing life with you.
Looks good! I look forward to reading more!
ReplyDeleteMay God bless!!

ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading your stories & reviews & learning more about you.

ReplyDeleteI'm working on a paranormal romance series, and a submission for the WG2E's Summer Fling anthology, and I'm still working on something for the end of the year -- which is rapidly approaching! eek!
Your blog looks great, Sandra, and I look forward to keeping up with you here. Congratulations and continued success!
ReplyDeleteBest of luck! Pam Asberry got me into blogging too--might want to look at your Dashboard/Design feature and fix it so readers can "follow" you or "subscribe" to get new postings via email. It's an adventure!
ReplyDeleteI'm writing a series of contemporary romances following a family and plan on self-publishing at least the first two sometime next year.
There we go--after I posted my comment the "Subscribe by email" and GFC (Google Friend Connect) came up. You're steps ahead of me! Take care!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new blog and on all your books published, Sandy! Looks like a fun place to visit. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! Got my Google issue fixed.
