December Is Here!

At our house, December started with a whirlwind of activity--parties--and now it has settled down until the kids arrive in a couple weeks.  Can you believe Christmas is only 2 1/2 weeks away?  Where did the year go?

First, I'd like to congratulate Mary Marvella since she won the cute little Santa hugging the throw blanket.  Mary, thank you for your faithfulness in supporting my new blog.

Barbara Phinney is dropping by this coming Wednesday to be my guest and I'm really looking forward to her visit.  I'm in the middle of her e-book, Souvenirs, a suspense about....well, I won't tell you about it now since I plan to do a book review this next Saturday, but I'm having to force myself to write since I'd rather find out what's going to happen next.  Drop back by and get a sneak peek!  (yes, I'm being sneaky)

For now, I'm going to stop chatting with you and get to work.  I'm editing the book I wrote about my mother and father (Cora Jean).  Cross your fingers with me that the agent who is currently looking at it will like it enough to want to represent it.

Take care and have a great Christmas season.    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

  1. I'm kind of in the same boat, Sandy; all my holiday events happened early in the month, so now I might actually find time to decorate my own house, mail cards, finish my shopping, etc. Good luck with the editing; my fingers are crossed for you! :-)

  2. Hi Pam,
I usually get an early start with shopping since I have to mail things to other states, so I'm finished with that...and my cards are even gone. Also, since I have the party for the Potter's House girls the first Monday of the month, it means that my house must be decorated by the first of December.

I can now put my feet up (well, metaphorically) and take a breather until time to cook for Christmas dinner.

Thanks for dropping by and have a great month!

  3. I don't know where the year went, either, Sandy. I'm scratching my head on that one. But I'm glad for a little time to relax and regroup before then New Year comes around. Good luck on Cora Jean. And congratulations to Mary!

  4. Hi Linsey,
It seems like we were just talking about New Year's resolutions and here we are again. I don't seem to make new ones...I just recycle the old ones.

Thanks for the thumbs up with Cora Jean...I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'd love to see my parent's story "out there" for the world to read.

  5. Hi Sandra,
It seems the entire month of December flies by for me - between Christmas prep and the innumerable birthdays and anniversaries in my and my husband's families, it's a constant round of activity. Good luck on your Cora Jean story!

  6. Wow, the last thing anyone needs is birthdays or anniversaries around the holidays.

My youngest granddaughter is the end of January, so I usually get her whatever she wanted for Christmas that no one got her.

    Have a great holiday!

  7. Sandy, I have the green blanket on legs, and Santa is sitting on my couch, watching me work.
My tree is done because I left it half decorated and stashed it into a corner.

Maybe I should do New Years cards instead of late Christmas Cards.

  8. Hi Mary,
Now I know why I love you. Don't tell anyone, but our tree goes in the corner of the basement...pre-lit and the gold garland stuff stays on it. We carry it up and just add the ornament & such. Some call it lazy, I call it conserving energy for what's important.

Congrats again and how you enjoy Christmas.

  9. Yep, it flies by soooo fast.
Just last night my entire family crowded around the tv to watch a bunch of home movies we thought had been lost.
I actually cried watching my three year old and six year old (now 15 and 18 yrs old) dance and sing, play in the snow, eat dinner, etc...
It was so beautiful to see that those two little cherubs grew up to be such wonderful teens.
I'm very lucky and must count my blessings every day.
Have a bright and merry Christmas,
    Tamara LeBlanc

  10. Tamara,
What a nice surprise for you to find the lost movies! I have numerous ones from many years ago and say I'm going to get them transferred to a DVD, but it hasn't happened yet.

Thanks for the reminder that I need to get on the ball and get that done.

    Have a great Christmas.
