What A Way To Start The New Year !!

Have you noticed that I was AWOL for a few weeks?   Hey, there's a good reason...I was sick.  Now, I gotta tell you, that's NOT the way to start off the new year.  It's a bummer, but all is fine now.

I spent New Year's Eve in Atlanta at a Christian music concert and we had a safe, sane and fun evening.  But, now that we're in 2012, I have a question for you.  Did you make New Year's resolutions?

Actually, I prefer to call them New Year's Goals...somehow it sounds more serious and like it's something I MUST do.  So, one of my "goals" is to drop the pounds I need to lose in order to have my BMI where the doctor wants it and my pants size where I want it.  I must admit that despite being sick...or maybe because of it, I'm just over 1/9 of the way to my goal!  YEAH!   Can you imagine Snoopy dancing around with his ears flopping in the breeze?  Yep, it's not even the end of the first month and I'm ahead of the game.

But the biggest issue isn't the goals we make, but the follow-through.  Will I quit after another month?  Will I stop short of my goal?  No.  You see, I read recently in the Bible (not for the first time) that we must press on toward the goal--toward the finish.  I also know that my granddaughter's swim coach tells them not to worry about who's behind them or beside them, but to"Power-through" to the wall.  In short, keep striving...with your focus on the goal and don't slow down....and NEVER GIVE UP!!!

I'll keep you updated every month or two to let you know how the goal is coming along.   So, do you have a goal for this year?  Is it a lofty goal?  One worthy of all your blood, sweat and tears?  One worthy of the sacrifices you're going to make to reach it?

  1. Glad you are better. I had a bad winter last year and know how depressing it can get. :( Thanks for the inspiration!

My goal is to sell another book this year, and even if I don't I won't give up!

    1. Thanks for dropping by! You have an aggressive goal...but one that's not totally w/i your capacity to reach w/o a publisher cooperating. So, I'm very glad to see that you're determined and won't quit if your personal goal isn't reached. Best of Luck! All things are new and all things are possible.
